The course divides into three distinct areas. Socialisation, culture & identity. (This is developed through the context of either families & relationships, Youth subcultures or the media.) Researching & understanding social inequalities. ( A range of methods & sources of data explored. Factors that influence the design of sociological research & the relationship between theory & methods are developed. This leads on to looking at patterns & trends in social inequality.) Debates in Contemporary Society. (This is explored through the two themes of Globalisation & the digital social world and Crime & Deviance.)
