The programme provides a balance of both theoretical and practical activities completmented with computer-based exercises using the latest industry standard software packages. BTEC Nationals are QCF Level 3 qualifications designed to provide highly specialist work-related skills needed in Engineering. As qualified technician's, students have progressed to fulfil such roles as a Design Engineer as well as maintenance and servicing work on a variety of equipment. The course is made up of eleven units which includes 5 mandatory. Subsidiary units include; Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace, Mechanical Principles, Mathematics for Technicians, Computer Aided Drafting in Engieering, Welding Technology, Engineering Drawing for Technicians.
