UPDATED 20151105 10:21:26

You will learn and be assessed by completing practical Photography assignments. This will allow you to develop your practical skills from a variety of Photographic areas including: Studio Work, Landscape Photography, Portraiture, Photoshop Techniques, Image Manipulation, Graphic Design, and Presentation Techniques. Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the Photography industry and are still actively involved in the business outside of the College, resulting in accurate, up to date knowledge being shared in lectures. In your first year you will study the 90 Credit Diploma. This can be standalone qualification that is equivalent to 3 'AS' Levels. The Extended Diploma is completed in the second year and is equivalent to 3 'A' Levels. Learners will study a total of 17 different units covering the different Art practices such as, Studio Work, Landscape Photography, Portraiture, Photoshop Techniques, Image Manipulation, Graphic Design, and Presentation Techniques. You will also look at core Art & Design issues relating to Ideas & Concepts, Communication through A&D, Contextual Studies and Materials, Techniques & Processes. You will learn about how other photographers produce their work, how to research in order to generate ideas and how to analyse photographic work. You will develop your visual awareness and ability. As a Photography student you will have access to all of our Art, Design & Media facilities, which include a Photography Studio and Darkroom, 2 iMac Editing Suites, 2 Art Studios, Ceramics and Pottery Studio (including Kiln), and a Television Studio. You will also be using industry standard software. Work Experience comes through the implementation of 'Live Briefs' which allow you to engage with the local business community and work on 'Real World' projects. Trips are arranged regularly to Museums and Galleries in London and Liverpool, to tie in with the current study programme.
