Optional units are also taught which may include: Physiological Disorders; Promoting Health Education; Infection Prevention and Control; Working with Medication in Health and Social Care; Vocational Experience for Health and Social Care. The course also contains a work placement component and whilst every effort is made to obtain placements within the student's area of interest this is not always possible. During placement students are supported by the tutor who will visit the setting. Whilst you are a student at Boston College you will have a course tutor with whom you will meet regularly on a one-to-one basis to develop your unique Individual Learning Plan.
