Whatever your chosen career path, the chances are you will be working for and managing within some sort of business in the future. Why choose Business? The business world is constantly changing and evolving as economic, technological, political and environmental developments alter the commercial landscape. Studying Business will provide you with an understanding of how businesses, large and small, can successfully deal with these challenges. Amongst the issues you will consider are: What are the threats to profits of businesses and are they limited to just rival companies? Is a recession always bad news for business? How will the UK leaving the EU affect UK businesses? Should businesses take responsibility for being more ethical? How can financial statements be used to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a company? Are emerging economies an opportunity or threat to businesses based in developed economies? Is it always best for business to aim to grow? If so, how? A willingness to use numerical techniques is important, as is the ability to communicate effectively in writing. You will learn through case studies, research assignments, class discussions and group activities. "Business is a really interesting subject and it's great being able to look at real world examples. There's a big sense of team work and all of the lessons contain useful activities that really benefit your learning." Miles Smith
