The first year provides a foundation by developing life skills, encouraging learners to be more independent, develop a range of communication skills, improving self esteem and confidence. As part of the study programme travel training will be provided to allow the students to become independent travellers. The second year of the study programme will be determined by their chosen progression route. A student who would like to progress to Entry 3 study programmes within vocational areas will study a programme that will develop their employability skills and involve regular taster sessions within the vocational A student who would like to progress to supported living will study a programme that will develop their independent living skills such as cookery, money management and will involve some volunteering experience
