This is a practical study programme, where you will work hands-on with a wide range of animals. This study programme will include the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care, which includes a number of units which include; animal feeding, health and welfare, animal behaviour, breeding and grooming and animal nursing. This study programme is designed to improve your employment prospects by providing you with opportunities to develop your personal and vocational skills. The course will prepare you for employment in pet shops, with animal collections, animal rescue and possibly veterinary surgeries. How will I be assessed? Observations of practical activities, group work, coursework, presentations and examinations. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Animal Management, BTEC Extended Diploma Horse Management, BTEC Extended Diploma (subject to a riding assessment) Other Level 3 study programmes.
