What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job - so you'll be paid and get qualified at the same time. You'll spend most of your working week learning with your employer, and you'll also spend some time at college. You will do a number of qualifications including the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Intermediate Certificate. As part of the AAT you will do five subject areas including, maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, evaluating revenues/costs and working with IT. How will I be assessed? We will assess you through the AAT Intermediate Certificate, skills tests; observe you at work and you will do assignments and projects. Your personal assessor will visit you at work to review your progress and make sure you are on target to get your qualifications. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Accountancy, Higher Apprenticeship Business with Management Foundation Degree run in partnership with the University of the West of England at Weston College and the opportunity to top-up to a BA (Hons) Other related degrees. Job/career opportunities Apprentices who qualify as accounting technicians might work as accounts assistants, credit control clerks, accounts clerks, or finance assistants, all helping accountants to keep financial records and prepare accounts.
