What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job - so you'll be paid and get qualified at the same time. You'll spend most of your working week learning with your employer, and you may also spend some time at college. You will need to complete a number of qualifications including the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and a Diploma in Accountancy at Level 4. You will cover a number of units which will include Contributing to the management of performance and the enhancement of value Contributing to the planning and control of resources Managing systems and people in the accountancy environment Contributing to the maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive working environment. How will I be assessed? We will assess you through the AAT Intermediate Certificate, skills tests, by observing you at work and you will also do assignments and projects. Your personal assessor will visit you at work to review your progress and make sure you are on target to achieve your qualifications. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians. You could then complete a professional accountancy qualification with a chartered body such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, AIA or ICAS. Business with Management, Foundation Degree at Weston College which is run in partnership with the University of the West of England and the opportunity to top-up to a BA (Hons) Other related degrees. Job/career opportunities A career in the accountancy and finance sector - that can lead to a specialist role in accounting.
