To gain industry recognised standards in beauty therapy this course will cover facial skin care using Dermalogica products with additional Dermalogica training, manicure and pedicure including deluxe services, waxing, make up for day, evening and special occasion and an additional unit on enhancing the appearance of the skin using camouflage techniques. Enhance the appearance of lashes and brows using tinting, shaping and false lash application techniques. Promotion of services and products is part of the course to ensure that employability skills are learned as well as developing effectiveness at work through team building and working to targets. Assessments are done in the salon environment on paying clients. Progression from this course is onto Level 3 Beauty or Level 2 Nails or L2 Hairdressing. This is classed as a full time course as you will attend at least two days a week plus extra days if you are may be required to take a maths and English GCSE resit or Functional Skills qualification at level 1 or 2. Plus all learners will do a work experience placement in a salon or spa at least 1 day per week ideally.
