This course will suit anyone who has an interest in health, social care or early years. It is an interesting subject which covers a wide range of topics and has been developed to allow you flexibility depending on your interests. The course has been designed to allow you to apply your learning in a variety of work-related contexts including work experience, links with local employers, case studies and independent research. This qualification specifically aims to develop your interest in health, early years care and education, social care and issues affecting the care sector Improve your knowledge and understanding of health, early years care and education, social care and issues affecting the care sector Develop the skills that will enable you to make a contribution to your chosen care sector. Improve your research, evaluation and problem solving skills Prepare you for further study and training In the first year you will cover 3 units and learn about: Unit 1: Effective Caring Unit 2: Effective Communication Unit 3: Health, Illness and Disease Unit 4: Child Development Unit 5: Nutrition & Dietetics Unit 9: Complementary Therapies
