What will I learn? You will follow a French or German course, which will provide a variety of experiences. You will be encouraged further to develop your skills in the following: · To understand people talking in the foreign language in a range of settings. · To understand written articles, letters and e-mails in the foreign language. · To use the foreign language to answer questions and take part in conversations. · To voice opinions and do other pieces of writing in the foreign language. · To discover more about the foreign country. How will I be taught? You will be taught in a group of about 25 students or fewer. There will be a range of equipment and activities used to teach the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will be expected to show good organisation and be conscientious about your learning. How will I be assessed? Each of the four skills is worth 25% of the GCSE. The oral examination will take place around Easter of Year 11. Listening and reading comprehension will be tested at the end of Year 11.Coursework will be completed by Easter of Year 11, with the three best pieces counting towards your GCSE.
