The course explores the practice, theories and purposes of theatre and drama in both contemporary and historical contexts. You will be given a range of opportunities to explore and develop practical skills, and understanding through improvisation, text and devised performances. Though this is a predominantly practical course, students are expected to regularly read plays and complete written assignments. In the first year you will study areas of performing arts including Improvisation, TV/Film acting, developing voice for the actor and developing acting techniques. The second year you will participate in the rehearsal and production planning of major performance work in front of an audience.
