YEAR 1: You will study two units: Religion and Ethics in which you will study a range of ethical theories as well as religious teaching and views. You will tackle questions such as “which is more important – quality or quantity of life?” You will be required to apply and assess these views in relation to topical issues such as abortion and euthanasia. You will also study Religion, Philosophy and Science. In this unit you will study miracles, creation, the Big Bang Theory, the design argument and quantum mechanics and a religious world view. Questions such as “if miracles happen, do they make it reasonable to believe Godexists?” will be tackled. YEAR 2: In Year 13 you will study another two units: Religion and Ethics 2 in which you will study Virtue Ethics theory, free will, and the ethics surrounding both human relationships and science. You will also study the unit Religious Authority in which you will aim to answer questions such as ‘How valid is religious authority?’ and 'What challenges are there to religious authority in the modern world?’
