With a business qualification, you can work in almost any industry, here in the UK or anywhere in the world. Whatever your interest or skill, the opportunities are endless. You can work in areas such as: finance, human resources, sales and account management, marketing, digital marketing, e-commerce, administration, customer service, management, procurement and many more. We run a series of taster session during the year for you to come and have a go at to see if business is the right choice for you. This course will give you the knowledge and skills needed to enter a variety of careers within the business and commercial sectors, as well as the opportunity to progress to higher education. You will develop practical business knowledge and skills, all of the units will have a real life business focus. You will also have the opportunity to represent the college by participating in competitions and trips and complete an “Apprentice” style activity. On average, to enter university you will need a Merit grade profile on the BTEC Extended Diploma in Business. You may want to find employment or training opportunities with local and regional organisations in in areas such accounting, banking, insurance, human resources, marketing and sales. In addition, we will prepare you for starting your own business or perhaps an e-business. You can also move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Name: Business - Level 3 Qualification title: BTEC Extended Diploma in Business (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment To achieve the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business (equivalent to 3 A Levels), you will study 18 units in total and to achieve the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business (equivalent to 2 A levels) you will study 12 units in total. You will study a combination of practical and theory subjects. Each assessment will be graded at pass, merit or distinction level and is continuous throughout the duration of your course. You will be assessed by coursework. There are no exams. Whilst taking one of our full-time courses you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills which could comprise of a combination of English, Maths and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.
