Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care

All early years courses include topics which are integrated with work experience in a range of childcare settings, with children from birth up to eight years of age. All students will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. Topics on this course include: - Early learning and childcare - Social care - Learning and development support services - The developing child - Playwork - Working with children with learning difficulties - Supporting literacy and numeracy development - Implementing the early years foundation stage - Child protection and safeguarding - Diversity, Equality and Inclusion - Health & Safety practice This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's settings including early years and social care Work in a real working environment Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as they need to show competence in both knowledge and practical.
