This course, which involves practical work throughout, covers the core principles of Science, building on what has been studied at GCSE. The approach is very ‘real world’, with an emphasis on how science can be applied to tackling everyday aspects of life and society. Assessment is mainly by course work. We study six units of science: Investigating Science at Work, Energy Transfer Systems, Finding out about Substances, Planning and Carrying out a Scientific Investigation, Healthy Body and The Role of the Pathology Service?
