In the AS units you will study: G321: Foundation Portfolio in Media This is a coursework unit, where candidates plan and create the opening sequence to a feature film, following the conventions of their chosen genre. This process involves progression from a pre-production, preliminary exercise to a more fully realised piece. Candidates present their research, planning and evaluation in electronic format using the blogging website Wordpress. This unit is internally assessed and externally moderated. G322: Key Media Concepts (TV Drama) This paper covers the two areas of Textual Analysis and Representation alongside Institutions and Audiences. In Section A, candidates answer a question related to representation within an unseen moving image extract from a British television drama. For Section B, candidates study the film industry and, in particular, how a film is produced, distributed, marketed and exhibited. This unit is externally examined.
