Vocational Level 3 Health & Social Care Diploma

UPDATED 20161111 16:05:17

Whilst Health and Social Care qualifications are important for many careers, it is important to realise that qualifications in subjects such as Maths and English are often important. Often Health and Social Care professionals need to keep records and write reports, as well as explain ideas and work within teams. Depending on the job, employers may look for commercial awareness, communication skills, creativity, organisation skills and IT competence. All these skills are likely to be gained from gaining a good qualification in a range of subjects and from participation in work experience. In Year 12, depending on the qualification you are taking, you will be required to complete a total of three units (for the Extended Certificate) or six units (for the Diploma). These units will include the Mandatory Units that you will be required to complete for the successful completion of the course. In Year 13, you will move on to more specialist units that will deepen your knowledge of the key values that underpin the Health and Social Care industry. You will also be required to work independently but with sufficient guidance on the Unit 6 which is Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care where you would have to showcase your learning and skills that you have acquired over the two years of study.
