This course equips you with a broad range of skills, which will prove useful in employment and as a means of gaining access to University. Typical career and University options are Bachelor of Arts degree in, Industrial (Product) Design, Architecture, Advertising, Editing and Multi Media. In this unit students are given the opportunity to develop their creative, technical and practical skills through a series of product investigation, design and manufacturing activities. Students will produce one portfolio with three distinct sections which will demonstrate their creativity and flair when investigating, designing and making products. The A2 year is a synoptic course that reflects and incorporates much of what has been learnt in the previous year. It is also built around a Design and Make Project unit and Theory Based exam unit. This final project allows you to identify your own market niche for a product, and work in tandem with an external organisation to complete a new innovative product. Theory work also follows on from the previous year, and students are required to use their past knowledge to consider how industrial designs are put together.
