Travel & Tourism GCE A2 (Double Award)

UPDATED 20151029 11:17:32

9/11, the world recession and growing environmental awareness have all impacted heavily on the Travel and Tourism industry yet despite this, it still competes with the oil and motor industry as one of the largest in the world employing over 2 million people in the UK, and still it grows. The subject looks at this dynamic industry and gives the students an opportunity to study it in depth whether it is the impact tourists have had on developing nations or how Tour Operators choose and market their package holidays. The course uses real life events to expand on the theories learnt in the classroom. It works closely with recognised travel companies such Virgin, British Airways, Kuoni, First Choice and a number of local travel agents.
