This course provides the opportunity to gain the qualifications- knowledge and experience needed for a career in the ever expanding Electrical Industry. Advanced Apprenticeships also offer quality training at industry standards- by up to date and experienced tutors. This course is designed by employers for employers - so you can be sure you would be gaining the skills the industry demands.

Name: Work-Based Electro-technology Installations NVQ Diploma Qualification title: NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) Qualification type: Assessment You will be assessed in the following ways: - On-line knowledge assessments- - Written & research projects/assignments- - On site external assessments/tests- - On site professional discussions- - Performance units for the practical activities are assessed in the workplace or as appropriate in simulated conditions. All Performance Units will be assessed and evidence referenced in a diary log. You will gather evidence to prove that you can meet the required standards set by the industry- and does include a three/four day external assessment - Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) at the end of the qualification to test competence. Entry requirements

You must be employed (possibly self-employed) to be accepted for this qualification- as the practical element is to be assessed at your workplace. Offered at various times- currently two evenings a week totalling 6 hours per week. You will need to purchase the following: - Scientific calculator - Log Book for assessments - C&G 2357 text books to help understanding/revision - IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition 2011 - IEE Wiring Regulations - On Site Guide 17th Edition - Personal Safety Clothing and Safety Boots Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course- your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes. If you haven't achieved an A*-C grade in English or Maths at GCSE- or a Level 2 Functional Skill- you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham- Walsall- Wolverhampton- Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
