Conscience and Dissent - researching the Cyril Pearce database

UPDATED 20151027 19:26:18

We'll consider reasons for conscientious objection in world war one including family, political and religious factors, by seeking out contemporary and other sources of the period. Focussing on a number of individuals and their families, we'll build a picture of the local context and historical background to the stance they took. Students will develop the skills to research an individual in both local and national contexts.
