UPDATED 20151027 19:21:39

A seven-week course giving an overview of the architecture and history of the medieval churches of Essex, including the stories of noteworthy vicars. Beginning with the development of Christianity in Essex and the abbeys, monasteries and priories we once enjoyed. Subsequent weeks will each focus on a specific aspect of churches, for example, towers, windows or church furniture. The course may include field trip visits to churches; this will be negotiated with the students.
