The Second World War changed the world and art changed with it. This course will explore the major art movements in the last 70 years, notably Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, Pop Art and Post Modernism. Major artists studie will include Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and Gerhard Richter. British art will play a significant role; we shall seek to appreciate and understand the work of key artists from this country too.
