This course is designed to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the public services sector. It will also give learners the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in the public services sector. It aims to support progression into specialised Level 3 qualifications in public services or progression into an Apprenticeship and ultimately give learners the potential opportunity to enter employment within a wide range of job roles. Learners will need to take a total of 10-12 units to complete this qualification. The number of units taken is dependent on the size of optional units selected, and the combination of all units should total 480 guided learning hours. The course includes the following core units: The Role and Work of the Public Services Working Skills in the Public Service Sector Carrying out a Project in Public Services Citizenship, Society and the Public Services Crime and its Effects on Society and Individuals Employability Skills in the Public Services You will also have a choice of optional units; examples below: Employment in the Public Services Health, Fitness and Lifestyle for the Public Services Volunteering for the Public Services Preparing to Respond to Emergency Incidents Public Services and Community Protection Community and Cultural Awareness Sport and Recreation in the Public Services Health and Safety in the Public Services
