The aim of the Children and Young Peoples Work Force qualifications is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of the Child Care industry. They provide an insight into the principles and processes of the delivery of Learning and Development with children and young people from 4-16 years and will aid career progression. This qualification can be taken as an Apprenticeship or NVQ only. The focus of this NVQ is leading and supervising or working unsupervised whilst providing child care services for children and their families. Level 3 learners are required to offer care and support to children and their families within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency culture and to evaluate outcomes, whilst working within the context of the principles and values of the sector. This programme is designed primarily for those who work in face-to-face roles with children and families, who may have supervisory responsibilities, specialist roles or work unsupervised. An apprenticeship will cover additional elements such as a First Aid Certificate in Paediatrics, and Functional Skills in Numeracy and Communications

Learning will take place during visits to your workplace by an Ingeus Training Advisor. Throughout your learning you will build up an portfolio (online where appropriate) in support of your qualification. During your Training Advisor's visits to your workplace you will be observed carrying out your day to day tasks. Your duties and responsibilities will also be discussed and you will be given full guidance and support to enable you to complete the qualification. Visits also provide an opportunity to feedback details of your progress to your employer. Your portfolio will be reviewed and assessed on an ongoing basis.
