CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education

Who is the course for? This course is for people with a keen interest in working with children or young people at a professional level. You will have some experience already and be able to get a work experience placement or are already employed in a childcare setting in a key worker position. What can it lead to? You will be qualified to work as a key worker or team leader and doing this course might help you to gain promotion or improve your future job prospects. You could seek employment in childcare settings such as schools, nurseries, playgroups in an unsupervised role or as a nanny or childminder. You could go on to further study at Level 4 such as a hospital play specialist course, Foundation Degree or HND in Early Years. What will I study? You will learn about all aspects of children's care and education through theory lessons in college. You will study core subjects such as promoting communication, equality and diversity and implementing duty of care in children and young people's settings. There are also mandatory units relating to children and young people, for example; promote child and young person development, working together for the benefit of children and young people, context and principles for early years provision and professional practice in early years settings. Additional units may also be studied e.g. work with babies and young children to promote their development and learning.
