Who is the course for? The BTEC Extended Diploma in Media provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to enter a career in the media or progress to the HND within the college or to University courses. It is for people who are able to make a commitment to developing creative, technical, organisational and analytical skills to become competent in video and multimedia production. What can it lead to? Work with a media company, particularly video and television production, the ability to set up and manage your own video production company or a University media degree or other higher education qualification. What will I study? You will analyse various media products including television and film production as well as learn about professional practice in the industry. However, the main focus of the course is practical video production skills along with some units which develop multimedia practice. This will include music video production, documentary, and camer handling techniques.
