AQA AS and A2 Media Studies are a natural progression for those students who have taken Media Studies at GCSE but will also be suitable for those with an interest in the subject despite having little experience. The course is divided into theory and practical units with scope for the student to focus on their own areas of enthusiasm. The course will: contain comprehensive and integrated coverage of media theory and practice focus on new technologies cover audiences as both producers and consumers of media texts demand practical production in both AS and A2 create opportunities for students to investigate what interests them offer a choice of cross-media studies emphasise contemporary issues and debates offer a rolling programme of production briefs and preset topics prepare students for progression into work or higher education in a range of media-related areas
