Course summary This course is funded through the Leicestershire Nutrition & Dietetics Service (LNDS) and delivered by Leicestershire Adult Learning Service with some input from Waste Management and their Love Food Hate Waste (LFHW) programmeYou will learn about food groups portion sizes health issues relating to diet nutrition & health as well as how to cook healthy meals from scratch and the ability to bulk out meals using vegetables and pulses as well as how to make the most of your left overs.You will make a main meal to take home and enjoy at a later stage or eat as a group.There will be a discussion topic each week where you will have the opportunity to ask questions What experience or skills do I need to join this course?No previous experience in cooking is needed - you will be taught all you need to know!An interest in eating healthily would be an advantage but not essential or a desire to change eating and lifestyle habits.A member of the Back to Basics team may contact you before the course to have a chat with you or if you have any questions you can contact 0800988 0308 and request that a member of the back to basics team give you a call What is the course about?This is a relaxed fun course where the emphasis is on having an enjoyable time with like-minded people.You will prepare and cook a meal each week following a recipe card which you will get to keep. By the end of the course you will have your own recipe book to use at homeAll ingredients are supplied free of charge and any dietary requirements taken into account.For the first session you will need:If you have an apron please bring it along (if not dont worry)A plastic container (ice-cream size) to take food home in nothing fancy!Additional costs and/or resources: This course is provided free with funding from the LNDS.You may want to bring a folder to keep you recipes in but not essential.You will be presented with a bag of goodies from LFHW at the end of the courseHow will I know how I am getting o
