Offered in partnership with Chelsea FC Foundation this Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport is an ideal qualification for you if you are interested in all types of sport, fitness and exercise. The unique aspect of this programme is that it is delivered by Croydon Colleges expert teachers alongside specialists from Chelsea Football Clubs Foundation. You will also be expected to work toward achieving GCSE C grades in English and mathematics, as well as having the opportunity to volunteer in an expansive range of wider college or community sporting activities. Over the three terms you will study three different aspects of sport, preparing you appropriately for advanced study: Term 1 – Applied Sports Science -Fitness for sport and exercise-Anatomy and physiology for sports performance-Practical sports performance-The sports performer in action Term 2 – Sports in Society-The mind and sports performance-Leading sports activities-Promotion and sponsorship in sport-Running a sports event Term 3 – Personal Fitness -Lifestyle and well-being-Training for personal fitness-Injury and the sports performer-Profiling sports performance Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
