This two year full-time foundation degree course is suitable both for those who have experience of working in health or care and those who wish to enter this sphere of work, having completed a full Level 3 qualification. The course is designed to enable you to develop knowledge, skills and competency with which to engage in contemporary aspects of public health and social care. Public health addresses key preventative health measures and this is balanced with an approach to social care provision as a response to illness and disorder. These twin elements are applied to community and personal health, and to the type and appropriateness of support. Modules studied include: Risk Assessment; Health and Health Needs; Understanding Self and Communication with Others; Care Approaches; Ethical Issues and Decision-making; and Health and Environment.
