You can choose between a one and two year course. After having completed the one year course, which is equivalent to 1/1.5 A Levels, you can then progress on to the second year, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Throughout this course you will explore a wide variety of performance and production arts subjects that will develop and build your abilities as a performer or producer. You will undertake a range of projects that include script writing, stage craft, lighting, technical theatre, and acting and performing skills. In the second year you will develop opportunities for individual creative expression within a performing and production arts context. By working collaboratively, you will stage productions that test and enhance your performance and technical skills. You will be encouraged to take an experimental and open-minded approach to exploring ideas which challenge and develop your acting and stage craft ability. This course will help you to develop independence within your chosen specialism in preparation for progression on to university or employment. Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
