Access to HE Diplomas are well established, national qualifications which allow students without traditional Level 3 qualifications to apply for degree courses and enter university. Our Access to Social Work course runs over one year and is ideal if you wish to progress to university to study on a range of social work or social science programmes. The diploma may also be a beneficial qualification if you are looking to go directly into employment, where Level 3 qualifications are required. This is a qualification designed to meet the needs of those who wish to pursue a career as qualified social workers. The social work profession can be highly rewarding, but it can also be demanding and challenging. You should already be interested in social issues and politics. You will study a variety of units which will cover subjects such as social work theory and practice, sociology, psychology, and academic practice.
