ACCESS TO UNIVERSITY - SOCIAL WORK

UPDATED 20151021 11:42:47

Access to HE Diplomas are well established, national qualifications which allow students without traditional Level 3 qualifications to apply for degree courses and enter university. Our Access to Social Work course runs over one year and is ideal if you wish to progress to university to study on a range of social work or social science programmes. The diploma may also be a beneficial qualification if you are looking to go directly into employment, where Level 3 qualifications are required. This is a qualification designed to meet the needs of those who wish to pursue a career as qualified social workers. The social work profession can be highly rewarding, but it can also be demanding and challenging. You should already be interested in social issues and politics. You will study a variety of units which will cover subjects such as social work theory and practice, sociology, psychology, and academic practice. Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities. There may be opportunities for adult students to study English and maths as part of your programme, and the level and type of qualification will be selected to suit individual need.
