The BTEC level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Dance gives you the chance to experience and develop your physical skills and understanding in a range of different dance styles and techniques including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Commercial, Rock & Roll, and Urban dance. You will learn and develop your skill and understanding in formal techniques such as contemporary dance, jazz technique and Ballet. ◾You will learn and develop your skills in styles such as Urban/Street Dance, Modern, Cabaret plus many more. ◾You will explore your creativity by learning how to respond to a range of stimuli in order to develop ideas and ultimately work with a Choreographic Structure and Devices to produce your own dance work. ◾You will watch and learn professional pieces of dance work ◾You will learn how to analyse features such as lighting, costume, set design, etc which contribute to the dance idea. ◾You will have the opportunity to extend your creative and compositional dance skills through devising, creating, choreographing and performing a range of dance pieces which you will then have the opportunity to perform in assemblies, showcase evenings plus at events held at other schools.
