A Level Mathematics

If you choose to study this course, you will have a desire to develop your mathematical thinking with a particular strength in algebra. The A level course consists of six modules. Four compulsory “core” modules which represent the pure mathematical aspect of the subject – developing algebraic techniques, introducing the analytical world of calculus. Along with two applied modules which can be chosen from: ◾Discrete and Decision which deals with algorithms, network theory, optimum solutions and simulation. ◾Statistics which deals with designing experiments, data selection, drawing conclusions from data to estimating the present or predicting the future. ◾Mechanics, the maths behind the physical state of rest, or motor of bodies under the action of forces.
