This BTEC course is tailored towards pupils who achieve their full potential through continuous assessment and evaluation. This will be assessed pieces of coursework over the two years. There will be no examination in this subject. The assessment approach of the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design allows for learners to receive feedback on their progress throughout the course as they provide evidence towards the grading criteria. Evidence for assessment may be generated through a range of diverse activities including: written projects, group work, practical work, verbal presentation. Delivery strategies should reflect the nature of work within the design sector, by encouraging learners to conduct research, and carry out assessment in simulated working conditions, wherever possible. Learners will be encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and achievement.
