Media Studies is a hands-on and theoretical course for students who are capable of working independently. Students will develop skills in the use of Photoshop and Final Cut Pro editing software thoroughly and we like to emphasise that the skills nurtured and realised in media studies are skills that future employers in the digital media communication sector need in abundance. Media Studies is fundamentally a vocational qualification, a point that is emphasised throughout the course to students. Creative, technical and theoretical aspects of the course make this ideal for a variety of talents and students; importantly Media Studies is a creative course. A knowledge and interest in newspapers, music and television, film and current affairs is a MUST. In addition students wishing to pursue a career in these sectors must consider Media Studies as a serious option. Psychology, Modern History, Economics, Business Studies, Drama, English, IT, Design, Graphics and Sociology are all elements within this course.
