Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading

Course content This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders or for those who need training and support to be more effective in this role. It provides the tools for team leaders to: Build positive and productive relationships at work Take control of your personal development Communicate clearly and confidently Able to self-manage The programme gives learners the opportunity to create a portfolio of evidence showing how they are applying team leading skills within their workplace. The mandatory units focus on managing their own personal development, developing working relationships with colleagues and improving their communication and have a credit value of 22. A further 18 credits to complete this qualification are achieved through taking optional units in Groups 1 & 2. Optional units provide opportunity to show understanding and skills in a variety of areas. We will work with you to choose which are the most appropriate. Mandatory Units Manage personal performance and development Communicate work-related information Lead and manage a team Principles of team leading* Understand business Optional Units Group 1 (selection) Contribute to meetings in a business environment Collaborate with other departments Optional Units Group 2 (selection) Store and retrieve information Handle mail Employee rights and responsibilities Resolve customer service problems The final two elements are the development of Personal learning and Thinking Skills which are embedded within the delivery of the knowledge and competency elements of the training, and Employment Rights and Responsibilities where understanding is checked through completion of a short workbook, or can be taken as a standalone unit. Functional Skills If employees do not have a Level 1 qualification in English, Maths or ICT gained in the last 5 years e.g. GCSE Grade C or above, they will also need to achieve functional skills at level 1 in these subjects.
