The qualification is ideal for learners who would like to develop their knowledge of counselling skills and improve their career prospects, or progress to further training. There are 4 mandatory units for this qualification: Using counselling skills: In this unit learners will have an opportunity to identify and practise a range of skills used when participating in a counselling skills interaction. Introduction to counselling skills theories: In this unit learners will be introduced to the key elements of the main theoretical approaches to counselling. Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills: In this unit, learners will be introduced to the concepts of diversity and ethics and their importance in the use of counselling skills. Counselling skills and personal development Credit: In this unit learners will have an opportunity to reflect on their personal and future development and identify potential sources of support. This qualification is internally assessed and externally moderated. Each learner is required to create a portfolio of evidence which shows that they have met the standards associated with each unit.
