Award in Employability Skills (Entry 3)

This course is for 19-25 year old students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and students progressing from Dovestones and other college provision. The course offers the opportunity to access employment. It is a flexible course that forms one of the pathways offered by Dovestones and is based on the skills students will need to participate as citizens within the community and within the workplace. Following an extensive initial assessment period, individual targets will be set for each student, recorded on their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and worked towards across the curriculum. Students will work towards; applying for jobs, interview skills, work placements, independent travel, time management, and personal skills. Students will also continue to work towards literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. On successful completion, students will receive a nationally recognised qualification from City and Guilds.
