This is very much a practical, problem solving course. You will develop a broad view of design and technology while you develop your skills in designing and making products. You will also develop knowledge of materials, design, manufacturing and marketing. At A level, the students have the opportunity to further develop the knowledge and practical skills from AS. You will continue to develop a body of coursework alongside an understanding of the processes and procedures of commercial production and manufacture. Students who complete this course usually go on to higher education to study Product Design, 3D or furniture design or Engineering. Increasingly, students are using their skills to study courses such as business management, architecture and teaching.
