The Level 3 Diploma in site carpentry has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to: - further develop the skills and knowledge of people, enabling them to work at an advanced level in the industry in their chosen craft. - prepare learners to take higher-level qualifications to enable them to qualify as team-leaders and managers within the construction industry. This course will involve you working in fully equipped workshops, and will cover all of the theory of the trade as well as the skills needed to eventually become a skilled carpenter or joiner. During the course you will study either bench joinery or site carpentry. If you take the bench joinery option you will study: setting out, production, timber technology, portable power tools and manufactured products. If you take the site carpentry option you will study: health and safety, first fix, second fix, carcassing timber floors and roofing. There is also an apprenticeship route available.
