This course is equally suitable for school leavers and adult students who are interested in gaining an understanding of how businesses operate. During the course you will study subjects such as business resources, marketing, retailing, recruitment and selection, and business communications. You may also have the opportunity to study specialist units such as accounting, market research, law, human resource management, events management and internet and e-business. This course can lead to career opportunities in a variety of business related fields or degree level programmes such as the Foundation Degree in Business, or professional qualifications such as those offered by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) or the Chartered Institute of Marketing. All units are assessed, and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.
