This course leads to an essential qualification for teachers, trainers and tutors in the Lifelong Learning Sector (post-compulsory education). It is designed for those who intend to take on a full teaching role, having responsibility for students throughout the learning process and engaging in teaching at a range of academic levels within their subject specialism.

The University of Central Lancashire and an external examiner moderate each course. There are three components of assessment: -Written assignments. You will complete a variety of assignments including academic essays, case studies, presentations and observations of other teachers. -A portfolio of 150 documented hours per year of teaching in your subject area. -8 one hour teaching observations per year.
