From the clothes you wear, to the chair you sit on, the house you live in, even the font used in this leaflet, have all been designed by somebody with art and design training. So if you have ambitions to become the next Vivienne Westwood or Damien Hirst, this is the course that will start you on that career path. With the exciting and ever-changing needs of the creative industries, the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design creates opportunities to learn through themed and real life projects. All projects encourage you to be problem solving, innovative, curious and lateral thinking. We actively encourage students to question and reflect, when exploring their ideas, because the exciting thing to consider is that the jobs that you will be doing in your future creative careers have not been thought of yet. You will be defining and creating them! Our staff are all specialists in different areas of the creative industries and have a wealth of experience to share. We also encourage you to work with visiting artists and designers, on projects that will enable you to develop a unique portfolio of work and forge a career in your chosen specialism. The final assignments you produce at the end of your first and second years will be externally moderated and graded either as referral, pass, merit or distinction.
