This course is for students who wish to work in the plumbing industry. This course is for both school leavers and adults. For those wishing to enter the plumbing industry experience would be an advantage. This course involves practical workshop activities as well as exam based theory work. Practical skills include: Copper Work Mild Steel Sanitation Installation of Bathrooms Hot Water Cylinders Plastic Pipe Work Theory work includes: Safety Scientific Principles Common Plumbing Processes Central Heating Hot Water Installation Cold Water Installation Drainage Systems Sanitation Installation Electrical Principles Communicate With Others All LMC students will receive tutorial support.All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
