What will I learn about? 1 Families and Households: Students will study the relationship of the family to the social structure and social change, with particular reference to the economy and state policies. Students will also look at changes to patterns of marriage, cohabitation, separation and divorce. 2 Education and Research Methods Students will study the role and functions of the education system, including its relationship to the economy and to class structure. 3 Beliefs in society Students will look at the different theories of ideology, science and religion, including both Christian and non- Christian religious traditions. Students will also explore the relationship between religious beliefs and social change and stability. 4 Crime and Deviance Students will learn about the different theories of crime, deviance, social order and social control. Students will also learn about crime control, prevention and punishment.
