A-Level Biology

UPDATED 20160919 08:02:09

Studying the subject - Biology is an exciting, challenging and rewarding subject to study. Not only do students learn about the body, plants and ecology, but they will be kept up-to-date with the latest developments in gene and biotechnology. Students have two enthusiastic Biology teachers who cover the specification between them. They explain topics using animations, models, microscopy, dissections, role-plays and DVDs. Students are expected to be highly motivated and able to learn independently, for example by prelearning some material or preparing presentations on a specific topic. Students’ learning and understanding is tested using end-of-topic tests, past exam questions, revision activities and practical assessments. Excellent preparation is provided for future careers in medicine, veterinary science and dentistry.
